Puppy Placement Policy
Our Goals: Weimaraners are proud, fun loving, loyal companions that deserve a stable, permanent loving home. Our placement goals are to give them that home.
- We breed infrequently, so that we can guarantee the best placement for our puppies.
- We plan potential breedings on the basis of our more than 30 years of intense involvement with the breed
- Potential parents are evaluated on the basis of structure, temperament and health, based on our personal knowledge and experience with many generations of their ancestors
- We adhere to and exceed the Weimaraner Club of America’s (WCA) Code of Ethics
- We breed for constant improvement of the Weimaraner
We breed for a quality of Weimaraner that will successfully compete in the sport of dogs and we encourage our owners to first have a great pet but also to enable their dog to reach its potential in American Kennel Club (AKC) events.
Matching Puppies and Owners
- In this disposable society of today, our Weimaraners are not.
- We screen potential owners and ask many questions to assure that our puppies are well matched to their new homes.
- Weimaraners are not for everyone, they are too smart, large and strong minded for the casual owner. They will be the best dog you’ve ever owned if your life style is compatible with their energy and intelligence.
- We will honestly tell you all the pluses and minuses of Weimaraner ownership. Weimaraners are truly an adventure; they will change your life if you decide to become involved in this wonderful world of the Weimaraner.
As long time fanciers and breeders we feel a responsibility to serve as a resource for questions about the Weimaraner, its care, genetics, health and behavior. We realize that everyone was once a “newcomer” to Weimaraners and we delight in introducing new people to this wonderful breed and to help them discover all the eye opening things they can do with their Weimaraner. If you get one of our dogs you also get us as your mentors.
